Applying to Lipscomb University
As you know, there are a ton of reasons to apply to Lipscomb...the uniquely Christ-centered atmosphere, our location in Nashville, the unbelievable professors.
At Lipscomb, you will gain the academic, practical and spiritual
preparation necessary for success in whatever path you choose. However, we figure that if you are at this page, you are considering applying. We love that about you.
To make your application process easier, we've outlined your steps to
apply, with important deadlines and links to necessary forms.
Note: Your application to Lipscomb University cannot be processed until
each of the following documents have been submitted. The application, as
well as all submitted documents, becomes the property of Lipscomb
University.
- Online Application & Fee
The first step is to complete the online application.
Please ensure that all questions are completed in full and the
personal statement boxes are checked with the appropriate responses
before you click the "submit" button.
You may also download the
application, print it out and send it to the address below.
The non-refundable application fee is $25.00. You may pay online or
send a check to the Admissions Office:

- Test Scores
When registering for the ACT or SAT tests, please request that your scores be
sent to Lipscomb. Lipscomb's code for the ACT is 3956. Our
code for the SAT is 1161. After the test date, you may request
additional scores by visiting the ACT website or the SAT website. Lipscomb accepts your
highest composite score, but cannot combine scores from separate
tests.
- Academic Evaluation

An academic evaluation is required by Lipscomb Admissions. Your evaluation should be from a teacher, professor, principal, guidance counselor or other school administrator.
- Official High School Transcript
First-Time Freshmen should request a transcript from their high school guidance counselor. The guidance counselor will send the
transcript to the Office of Admissions.
Home-School Students should submit a home school record or
transcript. For step 3: In lieu of an Academic Evaluation, a
personal recommendation should be submitted instead. You may obtain this from anyone not related to you.
Transfer Students are required to submit an official
transcript from each previously attended college. In addition,
transfer students with less than 60 credit hours should submit an
official high school transcript. To be considered official, a
transcript must be sent directly to Lipscomb University by the
issuing school.
- Admissions Interview
We want to get to know you! You may contact Lipscomb University
Admissions to set up your interview. Interviews usually take 10-15
minutes and can be done either in person or by telephone. An interview is required for Admission to Lipscomb
Once we receive these items, an Admissions decision will be made and you will be notified of your status in approximately two weeks. Upon admission, you will receive an acceptance packet containing
housing reservation forms, health forms and educational records
consent forms (according to the Family Education Rights and Privacy
Act).
NEXT STEPS
- Housing Application. All students are required to live in
campus housing unless they are married, age 21 or over, or living
with parents. To reserve your space, complete the Housing
Application and return it along with a $125 housing deposit to the
address on the form. Requests are accommodated on a first-come,
first-served basis. The housing deposit is fully refundable until
May 1st.
- Health Record Forms. All students are required to provide a
record of immunization and medical history. Your healthcare provider
should complete the Student Health Record Form. Return the Health
Record Form to the address on the form. Admission is not final until
this form is received. For more information about the Health Record
Form, please refer to our FAQs.
- Scholarships & Financial Aid. After admission, your application will be examined to determine if
you are eligible for merit scholarships. For other scholarships and
financial aid you should submit the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form is available at your
high school guidance counselor's office or college financial aid
office. The results should be sent to Lipscomb (Code 003486). For
fall admission, the FAFSA should be submitted after January 1st but
preferably before February 28.
