You can get a head start on pursuing your degree at Lipscomb, by earning college credit while still in high school. By demonstrating proficiency in core requirements, you can graduate faster, maintain a lighter course load or dive right into the more challenging classes in your field of study. We accept college-level credits up to 30 semester hours.

We accept scores from the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), the College Board Advanced Placement Examination (generally referred to as AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB). In establishing the amount of college credit based on these tests, attention is not only given to the score, but also to the scholastic record of the student. No letter grades are assigned based on credit earned through these exams. In addition, no credit will be granted in an area in which the student enrolled in or attempted college work.

For the AP test, a score of three or better must be obtained to gain credit; in some cases, a score of four or better. For CLEP subject examinations, a score of at least 50 is generally required -- with some exceptions. IB credit is also awarded based on various factors, at the discrimination of the Office of Admissions. For more details, consult the catalog online at catalog.lipscomb.edu.
