Students who are Presidential Scholars (Presidential Scholars are first-time freshmen who have earned a 30 or above on the ACT or a 1320 or above on the SAT) are eligible to apply for the prestigious Trustee Scholarship. The Trustee Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship. Five Trustee Scholarships will be awarded to first-time freshmen in 2010. All Trustee Scholarship recipients will be required to maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above and live on campus throughout their studies at Lipscomb University.
Applicants for the Trustee Scholarship will be interviewed in person by the scholarship selection committee, which is comprised of representatives from the Lipscomb University Faculty, Staff and students. All applicants interested in the Trustee Scholarship should call and schedule an interview during one of three interview dates with the Office of Admissions. Interview dates are on a "first come, first served basis" and will be as follows:
- January 22 (2-5 PM)
- February 5th (2-5 PM)
- February 13th (11-6 PM)
Priority for February 13th interviews will be given to out-of-town guests, as this time slot is in conjunction to Presidential Scholars Weekend. However, all students who qualify are encouraged to attend the events of this special weekend. All interview slots are for 30 minutes, and the scholarship selection committee will award full-tuition scholarships to five outstanding applicants. You will be contacted to schedule an interview once all application documents are received and processed.
To apply for the Trustee Scholarship, submit the following items to the Scholarship Selection Committee. ALL of these items must be received no later than January 1, 2010:
i. Resume outlining school involvement, work experience, community involvement and any honors or achievements
ii. 400-500 word original essay (typed, single-spaced) in response to the prompt below. Your essay will be evaluated holistically by an English Department committee for both content and style:
