I am originally from Rome, GA.  I graduated with my BS from Lipscomb University in 2001, with a degree in exercise science and biology.  I began working for the Office of Admissions in the spring of 2002 as a Recruiter for the northeast US.  Since then I have recruited for most of the US at one point or another and have also been responsible for the planning of our campus visit days and marketing campaigns.

Last Spring, I graduated with my MBA from Lipscomb.  More importantly, I experienced the birth of my first child, Turner.  My wife is a kindergarten teacher and also graduated from Lipscomb in 2001.  We were married two days after graduation.

I love what I get to do for a career.  I find great joy in coming to work each day to a place where I have seen God do amazing things in the lives of young people.  I also enjoy getting to see students come to Lipscomb and leave as much stronger people.

7/9 - Helping Your Student Find a Job

In our challenging economy parents are more concerned than ever about what sort of job prospects their student will have upon college graduation.  Lipscomb's faculty and staff are determined to help prepare students for the job search, and our Career Development Center works hard to create opportunities for our students and guide them through what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process.  This video is a great introduction to what our Career Development Center does:

1/14 - January Update

Tomorrow is our first LU Friday of 2010.  We had a record number of visitors last year, and we hope that even more of you will be able to come and visit with us in 2010.  If you haven't taken the time to see Lipscomb's campus in person and meet our people face to face, please do!  You can find the perfect visit day for your schedule here.

To all of you who have applied for the Trustee Scholarship, thank you!  We will begin the interview process for awarding these scholarship this Friday, and our task will certainly be difficult.  All of the applicants are outstanding students, and I sincerely hope each of you will choose to be part of our community at Lipscomb.

If you are planning to attend Winterfest on Feb 19 - 21 in Gatlinburg, TN, be on the look out for our team.  Many representatives from the Lipscomb Admissions Office will be there to talk with prospective students, give away prizes, accept applications and just enjoy a wonderful weekend.

12/7 - Completing Your Application

As 2009 begins to wind down, we are all looking forward to having some time to relax and enjoy the holidays.  Your Christmas vacation is also the perfect time to make sure your Lipscomb application is complete.  Your child may be an extraordinary student, but even if they aced the ACT, finished first in their class and successfully started their own business, we still cannot admit them until they have completed their application.  If your family has not received an acceptance letter from us, please take a few minutes to double check that your son or daughter has:

-Submitted an online or paper application
-Submitted their official ACT or SAT test scores
-Submitted their official high school transcript
-Submitted an academic evaluation (You can download the form here)
-Completed an interview with their Admissions Recruiter

If you have questions about any of these items, please contact your family's Admissions Recruiter or call 1-877-582-4766.

12/4 - Construction Begins on Lipscomb's North Campus

Today was a very exciting day for the Lipscomb University community.  We broke ground on our newest building, the James D. Hughes Center.  The Hughes Center is the beginning of a $25 million expansion on the north side of our campus which will include new state-of-the-art facilities for our Art and Engineering students.  Take a few minutes to read more about our plans to improve the campus, and see a rendering depicting what the Hughes Center will look like when it is completed this fall.

11/9 - The Trustee Scholarship

One of best opportunities that Lipscomb offers to outstanding applicants is also one that is often overlooked by both students and their parents.  If your child has scored a 30 or better on the ACT or a 1320 or better on the SAT they are eligible to apply for the Trustee Scholarship.  Five students are selected each year through a rigorous interview process to receive this full-tuition award.  All applicants for the trustee scholarship must be admitted to Lipscomb University by December 10, 2009 and submit all of their scholarship application materials by January 1, 2010.

11/5 - Come Visit with Us

Throughout the 2009 - 2010 school year the Admissions staff here at Lipscomb will be working hard to plan a series of special visit days called LU Fridays.  On LU Fridays, you and your student are invited to come experience our campus and meet our community in person.  You will get the chance to talk with our professors, have lunch with our students, tour our campus, check out the dorms, meet with your admissions recruiter and get a feel for what sort of place Lipscomb is.  I am confident that you will be impressed with what you find here, and I hope to have the chance to welcome you to our campus soon.

To learn more or register for an LU Friday, please follow this link.
